I know I shouldn't be buying stuff like that right now, but...
The nursery down the street from me carries the best plants and garden
ornaments in town.  I deliberately stopped in WITHOUT my wallet so I
couldn't get carried away.  But there he was, shovel in paw, and I tried to
say "maybe later".  But this was the only one they had - seeems to be a big
year for dog statuary - so I had to go back & get it.  It really does weigh
87 pounds according to the tag on the bottom.  I wrestled him onto a cart
but I had the teen who waited on me take it to the car.  He thought I was
just some lame old lady when I told him it was heavy until he picked it up.

And of course I couldn't get out of there w/out a few small plants.  I got a
'Sweet Kate' Spiderwort and one of those 'Nearly Wild' roses someone
mentioned earlier.  It's supposed to be a floribunda that grows to 3 ft, but
it looks like a miniature in its 5 inch pot.  They also had a few boxes of
wholesale items that they didn't bother to pot up, just sold as is, 3 inch
pots still in their shipping boxes.  I got a massively potbound  Rodgersia
pinnata 'Hercules'  for $3.99 that I'll try to make come around with some
TLC.
