It keeps getting closer to full bloom, Aurralie. The bud is bright red today and swollen. I have no doubt that the flower smells a tad foul. Many of these tropical blooms, such as the voodoo lily, do. Story is many of the major tropical pollinators also feed on carrion, which is not a bad idea. Only means beauty comes at a price, as usual.
Night blooming jasmine is another case in point. When it blooms, it smells heavenly, as I'm sure you know from growing up down here. But that great aroma immediately attracts butterflies/moths whose larvae quickly turn the plants into a scandal.

Exciting news, however, is that our ric-rac cactus [Cryptocereus anthonyanus] has a flower bud. Reportedly, flowers on this particular epi are rare. As soon as it blooms, and we photograph the flower for labels, we'll root a dozen or so cuttings.
Jim, I had one of those for years, and it did bloom from time to time. The
blossom was striking, but the most notable thing about it was the odor. One
time it bloomed, the cat knocked the pot off the table trying to cover it up. I
guess there you can leave it outside - not a pleasant companion in a closed
room.
