Snow? Nah, we call that cheap fertilizer. The snow actually insulates all we have growing. we only have problems when we have little snow cover like this past winter & I lost about 30 % of my new plants. But... the off set is a wonderful place to live & to raise children.
My daughter is ready to do battle with pulling poke while her 30 month old daughter picks empty ciccada bodies. I told her I will be down in Sept. with her mom to lend a hand.
Regarding education, not wanting to really venture far here I will only say that many schools up here are using a wait & see policy & continuing with the teaching that has done well for many years. Most schools here - private or public do very well with their students.

I've heard tell, however, that Main in summer is really, really nice. Have known people who had summer places there.
