Re: poke weed

Snow? Nah, we call that cheap fertilizer. The snow actually insulates all we have growing. we only have problems when we have little snow cover like this past winter & I lost about 30 % of my new plants. But... the off set is a wonderful place to live & to raise children.

My daughter is ready to do battle with pulling poke while her 30 month old daughter picks empty ciccada bodies. I told her I will be down in Sept. with her mom to lend a hand.

Regarding education, not wanting to really venture far here I will only say that many schools up here are using a wait & see policy & continuing with the teaching that has done well for many years. Most schools here - private or public do very well with their students.

Well, Ron, I hope one of those pans out for her. If not, post again
and I'll dig a bit more. No poke in Main? Lucky you! But, you do
have tons of that deep white stuff in winter for a Loooonng
time.....right? :-)

I've heard tell, however, that Main in summer is really, really nice.
Have known people who had summer places there.
