Why?  I think most of us here are with you on this Bonnie.  A teacher's day
is a LOT longer than 9 to 3, 9 months of the year.   Your state needs to
develop a system of spreading the distribution of tax income more evenly, as
the current system promotes a vicious circle of lack of education.  I'm not
up on current salaries, but a friend of mine who teaches biology in a local
public school and is also a guidance counselor and coach makes over $40,000.
I think that's reasonable for all that he does.
