At this end of TN they are known as "ditch lilies," and some people disparage 
them.  I, however, love the fact that they thrive on neglect.  I have double 
orange ones I dug up from my mother's garden so they are especially nice for 
me.  The double ones are just as prolific as the singles, IMHO.
