Re: NYers beware: tent caterpillars

Thanks for the heads up EVA...will have to go out there and look for them.  
Where on Long Island are you? I am in Comma ck.  Had a problem with them  when 
I first bought the house 5 yrs ago.  Hadn't seen them since.

My  preferred method for removing tent caterpillars is to remove the 
entire  tent. I either cut off the branch it is on, if it has minimal 
cosmetic  impact, or take a long stick and use it to snag and remove the 
tent. In  either case, I normally put it on the burn pile and destroy.
