Sambucus ?

I just bought a Sambucus nigra 'Laciniata' cutleaf elderberry and a 'Marginata' variegated elderberry. What experiences have any of you had with these 2 elderberries. I also bought a Philadelphus x 'Snowbelle' Dwarf Mock Orange.
Once again I have bought without knowing where I am going to put them. In my heat I am thinking that they need some shade.
