I think it's just the way they look when the leaves are fairly new. All of my maples look like that, and do every year.

I don't think so. It was the last of my trees to show signs of life and I
think the frost was over by then. But maybe!

Donna: It didn't happen to get nipped by frost, did it? That's how some
of my trees look...not exactly frostbitten, just a bit wilted.
