Re: shopping


Freight plays a part in everything.  Maybe they didn't have to ship the
finished product, but the components had to arrive somehow.  The medium,
containers, etc. had to be brought in.  I ordered containers from TN - the
cheapest source I've found and freight was $75.  This has to be figured in
to the cost of the end product.  And how do you think they make all those
plastic containers? - petroleum products.  As I mentioned earlier, too, the
cost of potting medium is on the increase.  Peat moss is suffering
shortages, especially in eastern Canada (from where we import much of it)
This is due to poor weather the past 2 yrs.
