Since I don't grow these I could not answer mother's question yesterday.
She has a 5-6 year old lilac tree. It bloomed beautifully last year. This
year the blooms are very sparse, just a few little florets instead of a big
mop. Her friend Marge who lives close by has one doing beautifully as all
the others around the area that she has seen. Neither she or Marge prune
theirs or fertilize them. They get the same amount of rain, light and such
and have the exact same soil. So I could not figure out why mother's is not
doing well, she says it appears healthy otherwise.
Any ideas?
TIA
