Re: Kitten Advice, please

I'm glad that you concur. While my first instinct is to get the kit into a "safe" environment - i.e. the house, it's probably as fine outside as Henrietta, who refuses to be cooped up, and is mauled when she's with the other chickens. She has her coop for the night, and if the raccoon comes back we'll have to lock her in, but she's enjoying life outside following me and getting treats.

It's pretty stressful having to spend every minute with the dogs when they're out, instead of being able to water and weed and stuff, but I'll get over it, and so will the dogs having to be under constant surveillance. I just wish that my dogs hadn't been taught to chase cats by one of our other rescuees. Even though my guys are 13 and 15, they're not above chasing. Still, I've been able to teach Dreyfuss to leave my chickens alone, so maybe it will work for the kitten, too.

somehow he/she has to realize you are not going to
hurt em. Who knows what that kitty has been thru
before it arrived by you.

I would give it a few days of being near enough for
kitty to realize you are a good person before trying
to trap it.
