I submit it's our civic duty to educate Boobus Americanus "Legislaturata" about all the dangerous poisonous, hallucinogenic, alien, and bisexual plants in our environment. It may keep them so busy they won't have time or opportunity to do something really stupid.

If our legislators only knew of all the psychoactive and downright poisonous plants there are in flower gardens, they'd probably be worse than the plant police. Can you imagine?

That reminds me of the best medicine I ever had - horrible stuff but worked like a charm on bronchitis. It was Turpine Hydrate with codeine. The little bit of codeine let you get some sleep while the TP did it's thing. Then the druggies found it and you had to sign for it at the pharmacy. Eventually they dropped it in favor of the even nastier tasting - and worthless - grape, cherry, etc cough syrups.
BTW, I was doing a cultivation sheet on Herb of the Year, Scented Geraniums, and read that some of them are used to make a turpine hydrate. Wonder if it's connected somehow.

around here, they are also keeping track of certain over the counter medicines and restricting how much you buy.... drives me nuts. When I searched further I found it was, in fact, 'Salvia divinorum' that had been banned. Apparently it's leaves possess a hallucinogenic compound. I do hope that garden centers are not made targets of raids. Nothing about our recent legislation mentioned anything except 'salvia.' I know I'm getting old. <LOL> I just have no patience with stupid people. zem zone 7 West TN---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
