Frederick Olmstead was amazing. I got interested in him after reading about his garden designs for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.

I actually used this article in my research paper that I just finished today. I know global warming isn't a good thing, but I have to say I wasn't unhappy to know I might be able to grow a few more things outside year-round. Oh Jim, wanted to ask, have you ever been to McKee Botanical Garden? We studied Frederick Law Olmstead in my last class and I found his student, William Lyman Phillips designed what was then McKee Jungle Gardens. I'd really like to go. The Cathedral of Palms sounds wonderful, as does the rest of it. Now I'm also fascinated with Roberto Burle Marx. I really need to move further south.
