Re: roses
THeresa, how long / often does the Sombrueil bloom?
I have a very strong red climber, Don Juan, chosen because of its heat
tolerance for my western exposure. I have two, planted last spring, and
they are going great guns. Flowers are fragrant, dark red.
Theresa, by the way, how is your jade plant?

I just love my Sombrueil rose. Smells wonderful and has those great flowers
with a zillion petals. I also have a climber in back that is a single, but
red with a white eye. Very showy.
Also I have a climbing Cecil Bruner that blooms through much of the
season, but with lots of little flowers. Nice though.

to the ros e growers on the list.....
What would be your favorite climbing rose? Of course, I would love to
have it blooming all season, but .....
Seems my staple planting, a rose of sharon, double something or other
bush version rather than made into a stand, has bite the dust! I was
hoping it was just getting a late start, but after further review
tonight... it is dead. Shame, been there for 8 years and didn't give me
alot of grief.
Anyways, trying to think of what to replace it with. Thoughts range
everywhere, but a nice trellis with a climbing rose is kinda winning
out.
Suggestions.. since I am not really a rose grower....?
