Clumper. It's biggest challege here will be full sun after about 10 am. I may need to throw a piece of shade cloth over this first couple of years til it's settled in. By then I hope the yews will be tall enough to provide a little shade. I'd rather have F. robusta, but they only had it in 5 gal. (expensive) pots. ----- Original Message ----- From: "james singer" <islandjim1@comcast.net>

From the pictures I've seen, the Green Panda is a pretty bamboo, Judy. It also seems to be a fast grower and cold hardy. Is it a runner or a clumper? On May 3, 2008, at 7:36 PM, Judy Browning wrote:I ordered some bamboo from Forest Farm yesterday, Fargesia rufa "Green Panda", Phyllostachys dulcis (will live in a pot), also Magnolia Sieboldii, Cornus Rosabella, C. varigata (shrub), blueberries- Northcountry & red huckleberry. I'm not anxious to get small stuff in until he's done walking & hauling over it. When the Forest Farm order gets here, I'll have to get busy. Today I went to the Renn Fair in Moscow Idaho & ran into my brother. He was demonstrating arrowhead knapping & helping anyone who wanted to try one. I found a pretty piece of green chert, but found it takes more hand strength than I have. He was really good with the little kids.Judy B z6 Idaho. beautiful sunny day, got a little sunburn on my nose --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHATIsland Jim Willamette Valley 44.99 N 123.04 W Elevation 148' Hardiness Zone 8/9 Heat Zone 5 Sunset Zone 6 Minimum 0 F [-15 C] Maximum 86 F [30 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT -- No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG.
