I had to laugh.  We stopped at the A&P on the way home from early church
to pick up the NY Times and a couple of avocados for the chicken salad I am
making for tomorrow's meeting lunch.  The line at the quick checkout lane -
less than 10 items - was extrememly long.  The four people ahead of us were
all male and each was carrying one of those hideous made-up bunches of 
flowers and a card.
