It's terribly humid here after a heavy overnight rain. The other day as I was working outside some sort of little bug - not a gnat, not a mosquito - but a real annoyance around my face. Almost put my eye out twice w the nippers. So I had to go in and get some spray. It's pretty early here to have a bug problem.

They're bad here too. Crazy weather. Some people think this is crazy, butit works for me. If you dab vanilla extract (the real thing, not the imitation)on your ears and around your eyes, and on other exposed skin, the mosquitoesdon't bite. What we have that are worse are shad flies, and I have never found anything that works for them. They hover everywhere there is shade, especially by my back door and along the shady side of the house.Does anyone know something that will kill off or at least persuade them to go elsewhere?
