Yes I have lost several. 2 of them were pretty old but came back from suckers. I love them in the spring but hate them when they come up everywhere from seeds or when the leaves get all tattered from Leaf-rollers. I have a Forest Pansy Redbud now that died to the ground, I cut it off and let it come back as a multi trunk tree. This year I had to cut out a big sucker that had green leaves instead of the purple. It may have been from a seedling though. I love the purple color in the spring with Snow-in-summer growing underneath it. My peonies are just about to open up.
