Yes, the trolly/streetcars go by the Garden District all day long...standard route. Several nice parks in that area too. I used to take my little ones there to run around. I will say this...BE CAREFUL because the way New Orleans is layed out...you go right through housing projects to get to the nicer parts of town and I would carry mace if I were you. I used to work in a lawfirm downtown New Orleans and I can tell you stories about the crime rate. In some areas, the cops won't even go in. Just be careful.

I'm sure the trolleys or buses are routed to the Garden District. As a
child I lived there with my aunt for a short time and recall going every
day to a beautiful city park right on St Charles.
