No, she was really upset.  I pretty much agree with your philosophy, Kitty.
Of course I've always believed in equal pay for equal work, too, and have
yet to find my paycheck equal to male counterparts.  Oh, well....

To me work is work.  If it needs doing, it doesn't care who does it.  If you
can eat you can cook and wash dishes.  If you can poop you can clean a
toilet.  If you can walk on pavers, you can lay pavers.  And if you can live
in a house that gets rained on, you can clean gutters.  Some things aren't
physically possible alone, so that's when you get help.  And some things are
just more easily done by one person than another when there's a couple
involved, but that's just called sharing the load.
