At my vet's suggestion I used a dip net to catch the cats that were between  
feral and tame.  I caught them when they came to eat and had open carriers  at 
the ready.  It worked like a charm.  The first time I caught one it  was a 
challenge t o get her in the box, but after I solved that problem it was  pretty 
easy.
