Re: rodent protection

Somehow doubt it'd keep the gnawers out. Hardware cloth would be better; might have to anchor it with thin-wire ground staples.

I'm packing pots against the back of the house for overwintering again. Though I've almost never had problem with rodents getting into the pots, one year when I had a large number of potted lilies, they found them. They dug them out and ate all the basal plates and tossed the petals everywhere.

I have potted up a large number of really nice lilies and some other bulbs they might like this year. I have a big box full of fine net bags I've been saving over the years for who-knows-what. They are the big yellow nylon bags that daffodils come in. I'm thinking about netting the pots. Do you think this would be a deterrent? They would allow moisture and air circulation, would they be strong enough to keep the little buggers out?
