Patricia, So glad you enjoyed the drive thru our state! (Illinois)The fall colors have really been exceptional this year. And I think we deserve it after the awful spring/summer we had! We went to the Mo. Botanical when it first opened in '62 (approx.). No doubt it has grown somewhat since then. Sounds like you have a great attitude about the possible move to Corpus. that's more than half the battle. kathy -----Original Message----- From: Patricia Dickson <pdickson53@gmail.com> To: gardenchat <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Thu, Nov 3, 2011 1:00 pm Subject: Re: [CHAT] Corpus Christi ? You make me excited to think what we can grow! Thank you all for all the information! I'll let you all know if it works out for us but it won't change my email ability! We are returning from a driving trip to Chicago! I told my husband if he would drive I could go with him. The fall color has been FANTASTIC ! We left OK a week ago to go to Dodge City, KS. The yellow of the locust and red sumac was wonderful. We drove across the state to Iola, Ks... Saw more great color and children 'Trunk or Treating' around the square! Too cute! Accidentally found Fort Scott, Ks! Fabulous Civil War fort! So well preserved and kept! Stopped for Farmers market where the little Amish girl with her horses & buggy had great cinnamon rolls! Next Lake of the Ozarks was beautiful with red oaks and all so colorful! Springfield, Il and Chicago were beautiful. Missouri Botanical Gardens through light mist.... Fabulous!! Now on our way to daughters in Arkansas ... Still beautiful! sent from my i-phone Patricia Dickson On Nov 3, 2011, at 3:40 PM, TeichFauna@aol.com wrote: > Patricia, you should love it.
