Hope every one is doing better now, both in health and storm recovery. Been up to my ears editing the "member news" section of the Army Nurse Corps Association quarterly newsletter. Just sent in the last of it. Free at last! Want to wish all a very Happy Thanksgiving. (I did Thanksgiving dinner last week for my daughter from LA, who wanted to take advantage of cheaper airfare, so we will go out tomorrow. Normally, I hate eating out on holidays, but no way am I cooking another turkey.)

Worried about you, Donna! You shouldn't have to be responsible for putting on

Glad to hear things are getting better. You need to watch Chet. I am sure this
whole ordeal helped cause the fall.

times.
When we flew to the West coast last summer for our family reunion and 60th

who works at Alaska ordered wheelchairs for both of us - I think Chet was
expecting
me to push him. It was really great because the pushers knew exactly where
to go
instead of having to wander around trying to find the right gates, etc.

I bought him a new cane today - one of those with four feet. I think it
will be sturdier
than the one he has been using - one that had belonged to his father. I
guess we
will weather this episode, but don't know when to expect the next.

Is he willing to use something like a rollator? Dad wouldn't use a walker,
and it took him even a long time to get him to use his cane, but the
rollator really works well for him. He has a balance problem and also
shuffles, despite PT. When he was in his 80's, physical therapy helped
quite
a bit, now, not so much, but he'll be 99 in January.

Nothing exciting. Just his own feet. He really shuffles along and loses
his balance.
He tripped on the edge of the driveway this summer and damaged his face -
had to
have plastic surgery, but that's all healed up now. He was better after he
had some
weeks of physical therapy last spring. If I can get him to go back - as
the doctor has
prescribed - I am sure it will help. I guess he does reasonably well for
his 85 years.
