Speaking of creatures, I discovered a dead caterpillar on my driveway. He (?) was not squished. Looked like he had just crawled out there and died (and I don't use pesticides). The remarkable thing about him was his size: 4 inches long and close to 3/4 inch in diameter. Otherwise he was mostly brown, no particularly distinct markings. Anyone have an idea of identity?
