I may get one of those for myself tomorrow when we fetch Ms. Fatma's new PowerBook. I have a wireless keyboard now, and it's great.
Incidentally, I've noticed wide variation mouse performance, and I think it has to do with the surface of the ball--and not just "dirt." I had a good mouse at work that I lost in one of our hurricane drills and was replaced with a new, bottom-of-the-line Microsoft mouse. The upshot is the new mouse can't get reliable traction on my mouse pad. So I swapped out the mouse pad for a local telephone book [unsized paper, but heavy--maybe 24 pound stock] and now the mouse works fine.

I've been having trouble with my mouse - extremely agravating to the point of slamming it on the desk and even screaming at it. Poor thing probably just needs cleaning. But I don't want to clean it. What I really wanted was a Logitech wireless mouse with programmable buttons. Got one on eBay - works like a dream.

And the b**** of it is....
The minute he connects, something will get him again.... Now a days,
they hit before you can get the AV file updates as well as the MS
updates....and no you don't even have to open/download/read an e-mail.
The connection causes it, whether it is a dial up or dsl.
I would watch some of the settings... I believe they default to file
sharing and non-firewalled. Might want to change those before hooking
up
the dsl....
Might as well download all the updates, then scan for the virus, then
do
the fix. Reinstalling just causes it to happen all over again.

Ms. Fatma finally got interested enough in e-mail to get a computer.
She bought a reconditioned Compaq laptop and a friend of hers set itthatfor her. When I tried to install her DSL connection, I discoveredtoin addition to Microsoft Office and a lot of other cute stuff, her
friend had also installed the Sasser virus. So. we stripped it downDSLempty, re-installed XP, and are now in the process of fetching the-------------------------------------------------------------------- -connection and then Norton. What a pain.
