It just comes back in the spring. What I meant is that I have never been able to get mulch on it in the fall.

I have had Cuphea 'Twinkle Pink' for a few years now. I haven't done
anything special to it before frost because I can't get near it. From the
time it starts blooming it is covered with bees.
