Oh my! I'd've invited them to stay in the motor home with you!

While these mid-west surprises in temps below freezing are no fun, one sort
of gets "used to it." The Christmas we spent in Colorado with in-laws had
honest temps of -40 F and we were given the bedroom the farthest away from
the pot bellied stove they used for heat. We zipped into our sub-zero
sleeping bags UNDER the thick layers of blankets they had on their bed in
there and still woke up to find snow on the covers and ice in Bill's beard!
Brrrrr!!!! (We'd have stayed in the motor home, but it would have hurt
some feelings.)

Yeah... I wouldn't either.

Big difference in our zones Bonnie. Freezing temps are one thing but we usually get a few stretches of a few days each of minus 20 in our winters. A year or 2 ago we actually had a stretch of minus 20 fro 3 weeks. Plumbago is not going to survive here. freezing temperatures. I don't know how it would do if we had a
serious winter...one with freezing temperatures of several days to weeks.

Could be valuable observations. Especially re plumbago, either blue or white, and fountain grass, either purple or white. On Oct 14, 2006, at 6:53 PM, Kitty wrote: > Just a note on my original uh-oh.
