RE: What a mess!

Auralie, my heart goes out to you. What a tragic comedy of errors for you
to contend with and try to adapt to. Please feel free to vent any time you
need to do so. You have definitely earned it!!!

I've been very fortunate in that my DH studies a situation thoroughly before
deciding how to proceed and he is most considerate about the garden plants
with only the occasional "oops." I'm not sure how I would handle such an
event in your shoes, but I hope I could be as calm as you are. All this
must also cost you a small fortune. When our congregation had to remove a
leaking tank, the expense was astronomical! And landscaping was no small
expense either.

Blessings,
Bonnie (SW OH - zone 5)

Kitty, I argued against this project to no avail. I'm just a silly female.
I didn't tell the whole run-up which included a new furnace and other
problems. No, they can't store the extra oil. No, nobody had thought to
check the details. We can make small adjustments to the tank, but it will
always be very tight. It's just not politic for me to make any comments
aloud. Male egos, you know.

Sorry about the mess Auralie. Didn't anyone think things through before
tackling this project (besides you, of course, in having your plants potted
up) ? Can't they syphon the excess oil from the old tank? Why didn't they
measure the contents before proceeding? Sounds like the 700gal would've
easily gotten you through til spring, so why did it have to be done now?
Can they reposition the new tank in the garage or is that a done deal?
