Re: bulb pots

That's a possibility, Marge mentioned similar. I could place such a stucture in the new area. These bulbs are all very hardy, so even if it is colder there than near the house they should do ok. I guess I'm off to HD for hardware cloth. Thanks.

My initial thought was a kind of cold frame enclosure, but with hardware cloth rather than glass. And also sitting on top of hardware cloth to keep critters from burrowing in from below. That would allow snow/cold in the enclosure and preclude unnatural temperatures.

Good grief; that's a lot of stuff to keep track of and worry about. I think you need to built some sort of serious over-wintering structure along your new back fence.

In both cases the pots would not get the moisture from winter rain and snow that would be normal. Do you think I should just go ahead and store them outside with the 450 pots of perennials I have to overwinter? Narcissi, Allium, Ipheion, Lilium, Fritillaria.
