When I first read about this, I think it was found on the Olympic penninsula. So it must not need constant sun. That area is frequently foggy & overcast. In a hot area I think part sun would be ideal. It might grow more slowly in shade, but I bet it will grow. ----- Original Message ----- From: "james singer" <islandjim1@comcast.net>

I want something very lowgrowing that will not trap bushels of dead sycamore leaves like the lastplantings there did. I need something that can handle the shade - this little area is on the north side of my house plus the sycamore shades much of it in the afternoon. So in the fuschia garden of this place was a very low growing juniper, less than 4 inches high, more of a juniper mat. There was no identifyingtag or anyone around we could ask. Any thoughts on what it might be? Ihave googled "prostrate juniper" but so far all the descriptions are forones up to 12", and that's too tall.
