Don't know the purple ones. We've got green ones that, unfortunately, I think, we planted too late, that are fruiting now. Hope I get some before the frost. Earlier this year, I bought a couple of pounds at a local bodega and made/canned eight half pints of salsa verde.

So, my tomatillos did great this year, lots and lots of them. I got the purple variety because they looked really cool. Problem is, they don't taste like tomatillos. They are sweet, not tangy!! Rats! The whole point of tomatillos is tangy!! So- I'm going to go yank up the plants even though they still are bearing fruit. So much from that great plan. Definitely getting the green ones next year.Theresa --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
