Thanks, Theresa. Doesn’t seem like it. These were at the base of a maple tree behind Celandine Poppies (Stylophorum).

That makes hosta and lungwort possibilities, but neither of those is quite right to my mind. Anyway, they look healthy and two of the five have a definite growing tip, so I potted them all up and will overwinter  them in a leaf pile. Next spring hopefully we’ll see what we have.

It reminds me of asparagus roots.  Maybe some kind of lily?



They do, a bit, you’re right, Judy.

But I am leaning more toward hosta or lungwort. This is a very shady spot.
