No problem with heaving because she has a green house she planned to over
winter it in. I haven't seen any seedlings anywhere from mine. Mores the
pity. I could tuck them in just about anywhere with the foliage fragrance
and the wonderful fall flowers.
My Sweet Autumn Clematis is starting to bloom! I can look out and see a
cloud of white blossoms through the kitchen window as I clear dishes. Makes
a necessary job palatable. :>)
Blessings,
Bonnie (SW OH - zone 5)

Bonnie,
Sorry to hear 'First Choice' was out of stock. I really want that one. As
to
propagating Caryopteris, I've never bothered with cuttings because my C.
incana 'Blue Mist' (which I like better than Worcester Gold, Black Knight,
and
Longwood Blue) self sows fiendishly. Just pull 'em up and pot 'em. However
you do it, I don't think they'd have sufficient root systems b4 this winter
to
simply plant them out without extra protection against heaving.
