I know that Mark Twain once wrote that "the coldest winter I ever spent was
one summer in San Francisco." Oakland is across the bay.
I've had brief visits a couple of times & can attest to the brisk breeze off
the ocean. My friend moved there a few years ago & sent pictures of her
veggie garden looking lush. She is enjoying it there.
