A little late with the reply, but....
I have kept six 2 1/2 gallon "All" containers and poked 4 holes in the bottom 
of each. I place them mostly under shrubs and fill them with the hose. This 
way I know exactly how much water the plants got and it's slow release 
watering. I don't leave the containers as discribed in the website. Mind you, this 
year we had way more than dubble the amount of rain, one big deluge, made up for 
last year's drought and the years before.
