It could be one of these Wood Asters:
Aster divarticus, know as White Wood Aster:

and there's Aster dumosus that has cultivars called Wood's Pink, Wood's
Blue, etc. - not sure if Mr. Wood provided a white variety. This one is
referred to as Bushy Aster, but I've always thought of it as a wood aster.

necessarily blue, some are white)
