Re: Clerodendrum trichotomum

I don't have C. trichotomum. I have C. quadriloculare [I think that's right]--and it is definitely a pest. Planted it 8 years ago--beautiful purple leaves and star-burst flower heads--and I've been killing suckers for the last 7 years. One of these days I'm going to introduce it to Brush-Be-Gone and be gone it.

Daryl, I have never even wondered how to grow seeds from my Clerodendrum trichotomum. I have suckers coming up across the yard from my 25' x 25' "shrub." I have transplanted some of the suckers (they all have roots) in other areas of my yard, and they have all lived. I have given a gazillion plants to friends, and I'm still covered with them. If I didn't love the flowers and the fragrance and the fact that deer don't like it, I would consider it an invasive pest.
