RE: odd eats for pets!!
When we took our new puppies to the vet Saturday for their booster
shots, we loved on an English bulldog who was recovering from surgery to
remove 75 persimmon pits from his stomach! The owner needs to keep him
away from that tree when it is fruiting :). Poor guy was doing well
post surgery, tho.

Bulldogs, while loveable, are not the brightest critters. They tend to
gnaw rawhide until it is a nice flexible rope and try to swallow it
whole. They can choke to death on rawhide. And with their powerful
jaws, toys are at least $12-18 and only last a year or so at that. They
really have to be as indestructible as possible. The only thing that
lasts longer is a Kong.
Blessings,
Bonnie

When I had dogs I kept bags of rawhide chewies around for the 'chew
factor', do y'alls dogs not like those??
