We used to treat our German Shepherd to nice butcher bones, he just
loved them. Until we had to have the vet's assistant pry them out the
other end. I still remember poor Nicky going from one place to the next
in the yard trying to "go", but couldn't because all the bone he'd
ingested blocked the exit.

My doggie instructor says it is partly boredom and partly their teeth
bothering them...kids suffer too; one of my younger cousins' baby bed
looked like a team of beavers attacked it...we have been trying to give
Biscuit plenty of "good" chews and she seems to be leaving other things
alone. Last night she received a nice ham bone that I had used in bean
soup...she was in heaven.
