Muscadine Pie Recipe


Below is the muscadine pie recipe I got from my friend.

Wash muscadines, pop insides into one pan and hulls into another.  Pour enough
water over the hulls to cover and cook until hulls are tinder.  Make jelly or
wine with the other parts. drain muscadines and save water/juice

Ingredients:
Pastry for 2 =crust pie                          Measure 1/3 cup juice into
bowl.  Add
                                                           tapioca, salt,
almond extract, lemon
3 cups of drained muscadines                juice, muscadines and 1 c. sugar.
Mix and
2-1/2 tablespoon tapioca                        stand a few minutes.
1/4 tsp. salt                                           Fit pastry into bottom
of 9" pie pan.  Fill
1/4 tsp almond extract                            muscadine mix.  Put top
crust on or make
1 tsp. lemon juice                                   strips.  Dot with butter/
sprinkle with
1-1/4 cup sugar '                                     remaining sugar.  Put
foil around edge of
1 tblsp butter                                         pie/crust.  Bake at 425
40/45 minutes.
