Theresa, I have never used a sod cutter or replaced a lawn but am concerned about what will be required to actually get rid of the Bermuda grass roots, which I believe can extend several feet into the ground if they are happy -- Good luck on what sounds like a big project --

I haven't actually figured out what grass would be best to use in this area. That will require a little research- or advice from some knowledgable person!

Have any of you used a sod cutter to remove your existing lawn? Just curious how hard they are to use. It finally came to my attention today that my back yard is inundated with bermuda grass- how lovely! So, I started ripping it out, only to eventually realize that there was way more in more places than I could reasonable rip out, and at some point it just makes sense to replace the sod entirely.

Any advise it welcome!
