That's strange. I have subscribed since about 1986. The offer is done as a complete second cover, front and back, over the magazine. It reads "Renew my subscription to Horticulture for just $24.96 and send FREE holiday gift subscriptions to the two friends listed below." This is the third year in a row I've gotten this offer. And it's not because my sub is about to run out. I am currently paid up until about the middle of 2008.

If you want the offer, perhaps someone who is not using it would send you their cover or you could email hortmag and ask for it.

this month has a page on purchasing the mag at $26.97 for a gift
subscription.
