? What, is their trash sitting out all the time? Here, my pickup is Wednesday, so I'm allowed to have my trash container at the curb from noon Tuesday through noon Thursday, not that everyone observes this. I keep mine in the garage until about 9pm Tues. If they come b4 I go to work, I put it back then, otherwise at 5pm Wed. (If I had a bear problem, I'd try to narrow the window more) If I have anything metal though, I put it out earlier so someone can take it. People regularly cruise the neighborhoods b4 trash days to scavenge metal items. It's better than having them rip the copper gutters off the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception downtown. Talk about wildlife.

Zem, You need to say it. In Aspen, the late frosts killed most of the food supply for the bears. 7 bears have been "removed" because they either got into people's homes or garbage cans. I think it would be so simple to NOT put your trash out until the day of the pick up, but many do not want that inconvenience before heading off to work. Sigh...poor bears betsy evergreen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Zemuly Sanders" <zemuly@comcast.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Monday, September 03, 2007 7:11 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] OT wildlifeI could never kill anything just because it inconvenienced me. I thinkI'mgetting more radical in that way as I get older, or maybe it's because Imeet so many people whose first reaction is to kill something because theydon't want to deal with it. A lot of animal problems here anyway are the result of development without regard to anything but making money andpeoplemoving to the "country" without realizing that it's not the city. Ishouldprobably just keep my thoughts to myself. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy Browning" <judylee@lewiston.com> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 10:11 AM Subject: Re: [CHAT] OT wildlife > The skunks venture out at night.
