No, you certainly don't, Theresa. I learned that years ago when I had cancer. I think that any brush with the tenuousness of life is a reminder that everything is subject to change without notice.

Poor thing. I'm sure he'll be ok in the end. You have a good heart to do everything you have for him. I guess I have an extra tender heart today, as I just learned that a childhood friend lost her first baby- full term, stillborn for who knows what reason. Just breaks my heart. Take good care of all the creatures (2 and 4 legged) that you love- you just never know how good you have it or how long it will last.Theresa Zemuly Sanders wrote:I picked him up from the vet this afternoon. She suggested I try to slowly reintroduce him to the colony since he is now "different." You should have seen the look on his face with his blue Elizabethan collar in place. I must say I was thoroughly cursed by him. At any rate I have put him in Otis's huge (and now unused) crate with his own food, water and litter box. He is in the middle of all the other cats, but nobody can bother him until he is a little more sure of himself. I'll probably keep him corralled until his stitches and collar come off in two weeks. I'm going to give him his antibiotic and pain medicine now.zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jesse Bell" <silverhawk@flash.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Friday, September 14, 2007 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [CHAT] PercyOhhhhh...I'm so sorry to hear that Zem. My vet has a three-legged cat named "Tripod" and I have a friend who also had to do that to their cat. It was an outside cat and it was on the roof and tried to jump from the gutter of the house to a tree and got it's leg caught in the space between the roof and gutter (gutter was in need of repair I would say) and was hanging upside down with a broken leg. Poor baby. But after the amputation, they both get around just fine. Tripod is an awesome cat.Zemuly Sanders <zemuly@comcast.net> wrote:Thanks, you all. I'm sure he'll do fine. His best friend is Fleur, and she has never missed have four operable legs. He'll be relieved, I'm sure, tono longer lugging around that heavy cast. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pam Evans" To: Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2007 6:31 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] PercyI've read some remarkable stories about how well they can adapt to a missing limb, but I do hate it for him and for you. Thank goodness he is an indoor baby. Poor lil' ol Percy! And poor Zem's bank account! On 9/13/07, Kitty wrote:Oh, I am so sorry for the little guy and you.
