Percy is doing great. The crate he is in is huge, and there is room for his bed, his food and water and a small litter box. The vet agreed that it would be a good idea to leave him in there until the stitches are removed on the 27th. I just don't want to run the risk of his sustaining an injury. All his friends are visiting through the bars. Incidentally, I have put a heavy throw over the top so nobody else gets a leg caught.

She suggested I try to slowly reintroduce him to the colony since he is now "different." You should have seen the look on his face with his blue Elizabethan collar in place. I must say I was thoroughly cursed by him. At any rate I have put him in Otis's huge (and now unused) crate with his own food, water and litter box. He is in the middle of all the other cats, but nobody can bother him until he is a little more sure of himself. I'll probably keep him corralled until his stitches and collar come off in two weeks. I'm going to give him his antibiotic and pain medicine now. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jesse Bell" To: Sent: Friday, September 14, 2007 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [CHAT] PercyOhhhhh...I'm so sorry to hear that Zem. My vet has a three-legged catnamed "Tripod" and I have a friend who also had to do that to theircat. It was an outside cat and it was on the roof and tried to jump fromthegutter of the house to a tree and got it's leg caught in the spacebetweenthe roof and gutter (gutter was in need of repair I would say) andwashanging upside down with a broken leg. Poor baby. But after the amputation, they both get around just fine. Tripod is an awesome cat. Zemuly Sanders wrote: Thanks, you all. I'm sure he'll do fine.
