I talked to Bill this afternoon (I'm in Portland for the Garden Writer's
Symposium). He said that Kroger and Racetrac are out of gas and have
been for several days. BP was out yesterday, but he thinks they have
some today and was going to check. He drove his truck (13 mpg) instead
of my car (24 mpg) so that he'd have enough gas in my car to pick me up
at the airport tomorrow.
It's a good thing that we always ride on the top half of the tank - a
habit we picked up after 9/11 when we were in Pensacola and there were
no gas stations open between there and Ga. for the drive home.
