Re: OT - gas shortage in Atlanta

People here aren't trying to top off, they're just trying to get enough to get to work, as far as I can see. On our way home from the airport late last night, only one of 3 gas stations had gas, and the tanker was still pumping. The line was probably 50 cars long in one direction, and even spilled onto the street next to ours.

I'm glad we drive on the top half of the tank. It's still getting dicey, though. I figure that if Bill takes my car, we can siphon gas out of his truck to fill it, since my car gets almost twice his truck's gas mileage.

I can stay home for a while. I will welcome being home for a while in any case. Just back from the Garden Writer's Symposium in Portland, OR. Great conference, but I'm a homebody.

There are also shortages in Tennessee and Western NC. Part of the problem
is that everyone keeps topping off tanks when the overall supply is reduced
so many of the stations don't have gas. In NC, there have been numerous
fights reported. We sure are in a mess. Wonder how long it will take to
straighten these problems out. Hope no one lost their savings.

I just read something on CNN about a gas shortage in the Atlanta area.
Daryl - as if a drought isn't bad enough, do you have gas lines to contend
with?
