I understand that the rat HAS to go..... unfortuately, I don't have

Got any snakes around? Or a hawk? Between the two of them, they
have killed
off the mouse population.

Traps would be great, except there are incredibly stupid cats in my
neighborhood who step into traps and get a leg broken and then one
neighbor suing another (this actually happened).
So there is the delimma. If someone has any other ideas of how to get
rid of the rat, I'm certainly open to suggestion.

Just a word about rat poison...simply because I do wildlife rescue
and
have seen owls and hawks (and other predators) die from eating a
mouse
or rat that was poisoned. It sets off a very bad chain reaction.
And
it is a slow, horrible death for the animal that eats that rat as it
stumbles around, sick, and dying.
Just a thought. Traps are better.

Bad news-
Something has eaten off all the leaves from my fairly large japanese
painted
fern! Noticed this morning. What did this (we don't have
wildlife here)
Good news-
My coral tree (which is still tiny, but about 5 yrs old) have
blossoms on
it! It is going to bloom!! yeah. It better hurry up though. It
is only
marginally hardy here (most years has died back to the ground).
Bad news-
There is a huge, fat, damned rat in my birdfeeder! Yuck! Now I
know what
ate my fern. Need to get rat poison from HD.
Good news-
Loquat is blooming : ) A little worried bc I haven't seen many
bees....
Happy weekend all-
Theresa
