Well, I dunno...this was my chickens first egg...and normally the
first few eggs are small. This was a medium to large size egg. And
they may not be as productive, which is fine with me. I had leghorns,
and my grandmother had leghorns. It was the only chicken she ever
raised. Hated 'em. They are MEAN and very aggressive. But she lived
in the panhandle of Oklahoma where winters are fierce...and they
handle extreme weather temps really well. Plus they are large hens,
so they make good baking hens. Wyandotte hens are very good layers,
and can take extreme in temps.
